The most anticipated football game of the year is only a few days away.

Whether you’re excited about this year’s Super Bowl match-up, the memorable commercials, or just spending time with friends, it’s time to start thinking about where you’re going to see the Game. How about hosting this year?

Planning a party for the big game doesn’t have to be stressful. As long as everyone has a seat and the food keeps coming, your game day celebration is sure to be a winner.

Here are some tips to prep your man cave or she shed for the big game:

Seating

How many people are you trying to fit in your space?

Ensuring you have plenty of seating options is a crucial part of game day party planning. Count each seat that you already have in place (your couch, recliner, bar stools, etc.), then add a folding chair (or bean bag chair!) for each additional guest.

They key here is to have plenty of seating. While everyone is excited about the game, they’re likely not excited about standing room only.

If you have folding tables or portable TV trays, set them out for guests to use, too. The last thing you want is for a guest to put their soda cup on the floor where it could be kicked over or forgotten.

Food

A Super Bowl party is not complete without food! You can keep it simple with pizza, pretzels, chips, dips, or plan a larger more expansive spread. As you plan, remember that finger foods are ideal. No one wants to mess with utensils if they don’t have to. Prepare chicken wings, sliders, or the ever-popular DIY nacho bar.

Buy plenty of individually packaged drinks or disposable cups. If you want guests to reuse cups, don’t forget to place several sharpie markers near the drink station so each person can write their name on a cup. Additionally, buy plenty of paper or plastic plates and napkins. If you can find them, get disposable cups and plates in your teams’ colors.

Place a garbage can or two near the food so people can toss out their trash when they’re done.
